From Nepal to the World: Young voices shaping global dialogue

“Growing up outside the major hubs where opportunities are usually concentrated, experiences like this felt distant to me. Being part of this initiative was truly an eye-opening experience.” - Sadikhya Karkee, one of the Nepali delegates.

Three outstanding youths from Nepal participated at the WE Model United Nations (WEMUN) EXPO 2026 in Beijing, China from 7-10 August 2026, one of Asia’s largest international youth dialogue platforms. The WEMUN EXPO brought together young people aged 10 to 24 from diverse cultural backgrounds, creating a unique space for dialogue, negotiation, and collaborative problem-solving. The conference brings participants from leading universities and international partners and gives young delegates a space to enhance their skills in public speaking, leadership, diplomacy, and collaboration.

With scholarship support from UNESCO and WEMUN, the delegates represented  Nepal in discussions on global challenges, diplomacy, sustainable development and digital transformation. This support reflects UNESCO’s broader vision of promoting youth engagement, intercultural dialogue, and international cooperation while ensuring that voices from the Global South are meaningfully represented in global discussions.
